So today I was in hornsby dropping elsa off at her cool new work (the organic shop where gowings used to be its AWESOME) and i ran into jen w, alison murray, mrs gregory and MS WILSON!!!!
she was still wearing exactly the same clothes (tshirt shaped top red with black and white stripes with some form of neutral slacks) and i had to confess that 'oh, actually, i dropped out of uni MONTHS ago'. hahaha. by the end of the session she was ranting about how no one should ever go to uni first year out, i was radiating happiness and health, i looked great, some people need a break, i'm going to love new zealand. ha. nothing like a good ego boost. damn forgot to mention that i'm a semi employed bum who does nothing much other than read trash and go to the beach.
also if anyone's up for purple sneakers tomorrow night do come :)

I am sitting in an empty house listening to two unbearably cute cockatiels imitate car alarms. Thanking goodness that the notorious across-the-road car alarm that always goes off is not going off. Feeling kind of dodgy - feral morning hair with a boys tshirt and my pink pjs is a pretty sexy look. Dodgiest grand finals EVER. Wedding of the century in two weeks and don't have a dress. New haircut - "yeah it does look kind of different. more like a mullet. a hot mullet. a beautiful scruffy mullet." we do nothing. we sleep, watch oprah queer eye and its academic, eat omelettes and pretend we care that we should be working. oops. i missed the cut off for uni. looks like thou shalt be a bludger is the commandment for at least the next yearandabit. oops again. john mayer is the god of all men. just in case anyone had forgotten that small fact. love peeps.

Saturday night was the final INXS show at Luna Park. It went off!
Meeting JD before he went on stage. Catching up with old friends. Everyone there being like WOW youre so big we remember when your mum was an eighties rocker with a pregnant belly and NOW look at you! Michael Hutchence's (drunk) brother hitting on me and then thinking to ask who i am: "You're scott and jen's offspring? youre so completely out of bounds its not funny! *stumbles away*" Someone asking if i was april "almost!" Ending up in the mosh even though we clearly had seated tickets. Kirk talking to us when he was on stage. My mum moshing. April flying back in from Perth and coming straight to the show.
The highlight of the evening?
Security: Girls, where are your aftershow passes?
Us: We don't have any. Someone's organising it for us.
Security: Well you're going to have to step this way....
*Kirk walks out from backstage and gestures towards us*
"My family are here!"
Dad to Security: "Will that do?"
Security: *backs away*
hahahahaahahahaha. and then kirk decided that why the fuck wasnt the bar open and why werent we all drinking off the tab and proceeded to open the bar, put a champagne in my hand and tell me my skirt was too short. LOVE.

The most beautiful house i have ever been in. Listening to bob marley, and praying to god the car won't break down somewhere on the freeway. the gourmet rolls my mum made us ("you'd better bring her back, boy!"). watching bad movies. running four ks on the beach. the boy getting family friend approval. bow of my swimmers burnt into my back. beers on the verandah. how bright the stars are up there. new shells for the collection. swimming in the ocean. getting up at four am to drive home, stars and sunrise.

reasons why the last five days have been incredibly shit -
1. lost my job. here's to having about 2 cents in the bank account
2. sick as a dog two courses of fucking expensive antibiotics did jack all
3. boys
4. my dad just came home and found my sister and her friends drinking beer on the verandah when they should have been at school....guess who gets the gun for being the irresponsible older sister?
5. girl and boy planned beachside roadtrip to make girl feel better about being an unemployed bum and then father is so mad he threatens not to give beachside house keys.
= fucked.
oh well. if anyone has a beachside house/job on offer, let me know. love to the peeps.
apologies about the angry rant....mother pulled rank and told father it wasnt MY fault that gret is an idiothead and has he ever tried telling that child to go to school? so to the beachside we go. and even if it rains we will stay inside and watch dvds and snuggle on the couch with lots of blankies and drink tea and be happy ♥

after nearly two years, i am so unused to sleeping in a single bed that i rolled out onto the newly carpeted floor. but then i looked up and saw my beautiful pink wall smiling quietly at me through the darkness and didnt mind quite so much.

she bounces out of bed in the freezing cold, straight to her computer. checks to find what she's been looking for: an email from the girl she is missing so much it makes her ache. reads it. calmly decides not to cry. has a shower. calmly realises how much she had wanted to go, how much she had needed to go. how much every hope in her rollercoaster world had been pinned on it. gets dressed. tells parents. they want to console her, but she has calmly decided not to think about it. makes her lunch. remembers the time her uncle had promised her he would take her to the zoo. how she had talked/thought/lived nothing else but the anticipation for weeks. how on the day she had gotten out of bed, got dressed, sat on the doorstep waiting for him - he was going to take her to the zoo. how he never showed, and she decided, at six years old (sylvia plath style), that she was never going to let herself get disappointed again. she packs her bag, gets ready to walk out the door. picks up a phrasebook and hurls it at the door. she is a working girl now. no time for tears.
Edit: I apologise for the emo rant. I'm over it now. When she gets home we are going to shop in expensive QVB boutiques and get our hair done at VIP salons and get massages backstage at the INXS show. Plus I have corlette, byron and maybe melbourne to look forward to...whats to cry about? ♥

im so buggered my brain is going in a million directions (and nowhere) all at once. i am listening to backstreet boys (mad i hope you are okay) and emo cds and looking up things in my japanese phrase book (will you come and meet my parents? do you have a condom? touch me here...mmmm lonely planet). i think its time to eat something that isnt a tim tam or a can of red bull. i think i need some sleep. i am very excited because today my dad painted my new room and it has a feature wall (guess what colour?) soon it will have a floor to ceiling bookshelf and a rosewood shelf to grow my african violets on and i will be able to bring ralphie-the-rehab-turtle home. i havent spoken to that boy in three days it is strange. my little sister might be performing the song we wrote at her school on monday. i am so proud. okay i know no one wants to hear this inane babble so i will shut up. but i love you all big, and those of you that came out last night, thanks for the good times great classic hits 101.7 wsfm ♥

so in order to celebrate this insane life/as an excuse for me to see all the peeps, i propose a trip to my hood on saturday night. i know people have exams, but its one night, and im sure you all need to destress! here's the plan: meet at town hall at nine, go to blackbird for food/cocktails etc, then head to wallaby at some point and dance the night away! let me know if youre coming, and spread the word :)

Gotta love friends who love you enough to dig you out of your self pitying trackies bedecked state enough to pick you up and tell you what to wear.
Greenwood = best music all night, running into my next door neighbour (!) and my cousin (!!) drunken messages to boys 'i promise im not a slut i just like dancing i sweaand tipsy phone calls to aprils mum ('im staying at your house tonight can you leave the key and some pjs out for me please?')
making showercaps and drinking berocca with my other mother all morning and talking to my very own hot model and her telling me stories about doing karaoke with jack osbourne in a japanese nightclub.
...it is so nice to feel like normal me again and not the rabid bitchwoman i have lately morphed into. i didnt even care about running into everyone in lindfield in my hair/clothes/makeup from last night. and i could have KISSED the man who put extra marshmellows in my hot chocolate because i gave him my award winning happy-george smile.
